Ooooh, Thanks to Monique Roberts for your great talk on Teaching Your Baby to Read Using the Doman Method!  "I kept flash cards everywhere," Monique said, "and showed them to Katie whenever. The important thing is not to quiz them. Show them a word (printed in lower case on index cards), and then show the next." What a lovely way to interact with your young person, I thought. Then I remembered my five-year-old grandson can't read, and there's no way he would get into looking at flash cards about mama and juice.  So I got out the red magic marker (his favorite color) and the index cards, and we made flashcards of his favorite words -- superheroes.

Baby & Me Lapsit, Wednesdays, 10:30 am! Ages new to two. We'll sing, dance, and maybe enjoy some puppets. Oh yes, and we'll read a few really great books.
Wild Things Storyhour & Art Class: Fridays, 10:30 am. Ages two to four. Something different is always happening, but you can count on singing songs, hearing some great stories and letting out all your art itches during our art class afterwards.

We'll be reading books about Alligators & Crocodiles July 6.
